Ways to fund care
If savings or assets are above the threshold set by the Welsh Government, care may be paid for privately. We can explain what’s included and help you plan.
Newport City Council may contribute following a needs and financial assessment. We can guide you on how to request one.
Where care needs are primarily health-related, the NHS may fund care through Continuing Healthcare (CHC). Eligibility is assessed by the health board.
For residents in nursing care, the NHS may pay a contribution towards the nursing element, known as Funded Nursing Care (FNC).
